8/2018 BlackSmithRC Garage: What's Dre working on?

It's always fun to tear-down an old RC vehicle and re-build it into something new.
That's exactly what's going on with "SLITHER".
Longer wheelbase, wider track, and a few LEDs so far.

The Traxxas Telluride body will fit, but not without several modifications and fabrications. I can now say I have an RC that's has a slant back, lol.

To make "SLITHER" wider, I used the

JIMI D10058 Upgrade Part 12mm Hex 25mm Coupler

I had to cut about an 1/8" off the locking nut to make a secure fit when I used the Axial 8-hole bead-lock wheels
However, RCAWD gives you more spare parts.

One of my most recommended products is the
Bayite 3-wire Voltmeter gauge
https://amzn.to/2nPQ7Hv
I now never have to worry about how much "Power" I have left on my Lipos.
This product is great for any RC vehicle:
crawler, trail-running, drifter, speedster, and drones.

Here's a look at the new extensions installed.
It does increase my steering angle
simply by having a wider track.
Approximately 1.25" wider now,
this mod gives me 10.28" of a track.
The Traxxas Slash 2wd is 11.65" of a track.
So can a Slash body fit?
Absolutely!
Doing this upgrade,
the Telluride body looks more to a scale size.

Another pic of the "Slant-back" crawler, lol.
I'm re-using the rear light buckets/lenses from "Slither's" original Jeep hardbody.

The old and the new
Tried and True
AXIAL!
